J-20 first flight today? Tension mounts.

Bleachers have gone up at Chengdu‘s No. 132 aircraft plant, red carpetshave been un-rolled, and porta-potties delivered.

Given the Chengdu J-20 cat is out of the bag, thanks toavgeeks with camera phones, perhaps the official announcement comes today. Or,dare we say, a first flight? Reports say the plane is out of the hanger andwarming up. High-speed taxis appear to have taken place all week.

Acording to one Chinese zodiac web site, however, today isonly good for going to the temple and praying, or burials. Hmmm.

A first flight would likely be scheduled for an “auspicious” day. The number 8 is considered lucky so maybe Saturday 8th Jan is the target for first fllight ?
