Photos: AirAsia A320 off runway at Kuching

These photos were sent to me, reportedly first posted in a Malaysian aviation forum. If you’re the photographer let me know.

The photos show the seriousness of the incident, first reported as a minor sliding off the runway. The incident has largely been downplayed in the press by AirAsia’s and Tony Fernandes’s open comments, especially in social media channels.

I love the slogan on the rear of the aircraft: Now everyone can fly (first picture). The problem seems to be different: not everyone can land… ;-)

Give the carrier a break guys. It is a budget, no frills airline so a safe landing is clearly not part of the standard package !!!

Tony has good rapport with the media. AirAsia have more incidents than this that were quickly covered up. AirAsia is operating at the edge of safety, always pushing, hurrying and taking shortcuts. Waiting for the holes in the swiss cheese to line up and ???????
Some officials in Malaysian CAD get pilot positions in AirAsia. Alternatively their children become AirAsia cadet pilots, fully funded. A lot of cronyism.
