A little bit of aviation publishing history takes place today when Commercial Aviation Report (CAR) becomes Commercial Aviation Online (CAO) as part of the Flight product line-up. Previous proprietors Olivier Bonnassies and Laura Mueller have joined Flight and are in Washington DC today for the start of this year's US Valuation Conference. I'm Kieran Daly, I'm Flight's Group Editor Premium Services and I'm standing in as CAO's blogger for the day while they get the show up and running.
We're very proud to be the new owners of the CAR family of products, and of course delighted to have Olivier and Laura on board. Many of you will have been readers of CAR for a long time and I'm sure you'll want to wish them luck. Here's a picture of them signing over their working lives to Flight - a subtle mixture of satisfaction, pleasure and apprehension seems to be the order of the day.
As you may know, we won't be publishing the hard-copy magazines CAR and Commercial Aviation Value Report anymore, but we are investing in the product family to take it online. Stories will be published in realtime, there will be more of them, and they will be archived - with links to help you find your way around them.
Olivier and Laura have got plenty to keep them occupied right now - as soon as the Washington conference ends they will be turning their attention to the European Valuation Conference which runs in Venice on 26 and 27 November, as well as getting the flow of information running onto the website. Pretty soon Laura will also be blogging here. It's going to be quite a fourth quarter!
If you're a subscriber, or are thinking of subscribing, we'd love to hear what you think about what we're doing and the new product when you've seen it. Perhaps you'd like to leave a comment below.
