World Airlines Directory

Those of you who bought Flight International this week (29 May) will have noticed our World Airline Directory in a new format.

For many years, we have produced World Airlines as a print product, initially as three 50-page listings in consecutive editions; then as a 15-page standalone supplement published with the magazine.

This year, however, the rising costs of printing and distributing the directory to our global circulation has meant that we have taken the decision to publish as a downloadable online product only.

World Airlines is still available free to Flight International readers - if you subscribe or bought this week's issue you will have seen how to access it online (for everyone else, we will be putting the details on the flightglobal.com home page at the end of June).

The format is not perfect. We would have loved to have produced it as an app. At the moment, the format means it is not viewable on an iPad, only via the web on a laptop or desktop device. That is something we are working on for next year.

But the content remains fantastic. There are details on about 1,500 airlines, including history, personnel, fleet details and contacts, and complete with direct web links through to each airline (where applicable).
