In his Ariel View blog, Arie Egozi discusses how affordable weapons systems have allowed cost-conscious countries to adapt their civil helicopters for military missions. Israel Aerospace Industries is one of a number of companies which has “identified the need”, he says. LAHAT is an accurate, lightweight missile that can be adapted to almost all helicopter types, adds Egozi. On the Airline Business blog, Edward Russell examines JetBlue Airways’ new premium product, Mint, and questions whether the service can ever be a success given the hefty competition on the US routes where it will be deployed. “The premium market is saturated with specialised products on all of the heavyweights of transcontinental flying,” he says.
