Day 3 here at the Paris air show and the intake of caffeine is frightening as the long days begin to catch up with us all.

For some light relief, I went to one of the endless trade stands which populate the show site, to find an arcade simulator that attempts to realistically re-create the Wright Brother's famous machine.

This simulator allowed you to try and fly the historical machine, but this was harder than I thought possible as I hit tree after tree.

After a few aborted attempts ( and after a couple of imaginary trees bit the dust), I finally got the machine into the air, feeling a sense of elation and pride, before accidentally moving my body the wrong way and plummeting down towards the imaginary floor.

Pride battered, I got off the machine, feeling more astounded by the Wright Brother's achievements but equally less than impressed with my own feeble efforts.
