Clipper Victor (PAA N736PA), the first 747 to enter commercial service, was involved in the Tenerife disaster on March 27, 1977, the worst disaster in aviation history (excluding the events of 9/11). Apparently, Clipper Victor was brought in at the last minute to replace Clipper Young America when the latter plane developed a technical problem on the day of its first revenue service.
