In India, a man runs a little "experience" business by charging people £2.00 to sit in the cabin of an Airbus A300.
There's a slight hitch, however. The aircraft, parked in Delhi, won't take off because it only has one wing and a large part of the tail is missing.
The venture is aimed at satisfying the curiosity of those that have never experienced air travel. And they won't either.
The passengers boarding his Airbus 300 in Delhi do not expect to go anywhere because it never takes off.
Bahadur Chand Gupta, a retired Indian Airlines engineer, sits at the controls in the cockpit announcing to his passengers: “We will soon be passing through a zone of turbulence” and “We are about to begin our descent into Delhi.”
There is no lighting and the lavatories are out of order. The air-conditioning is powered by a generator. But no matter... around 40 passengers turn up each Saturday to queue for boarding cards.
Gupta bought the plane in 2003 from an insurance company. He scrubbed out the Indian Airline logo on the fuselage, replacing it with his own name - Gupta.
