This year Flightglobal has seen our blogging output increase significantly, both in terms of number and in scope.

First of all in terms of numbers, Flightglobal has increased to nine blogs; to include defence (The Woracle and The Dew Line), space (Hyperbola), air transport (Unusual attitude) and a dedicated image blog.

Significantly Flightblogger, a dedicated blogger who you all know and love joined the Flight team, and it's with him we start our year highlights.

Since joining in eary November, Flightblogger has already brought us exclusives on the Etihad test crash and the Boeing 787's first flight, plus production updates on the A380 and Boeing 787. His ear is always close to the ground so expect more exclusive opinion and news in the new year.

Away from Flightblogger it has been a year filled with serious opinion mixed with the more offbeat news. We had the Northrop Grumman comic book from The Dew Line, Rose petals and champagne aboard the A380 with Unsual Attitude, news of Darpa's high speed heliplane from the Woracle, and an exclusive look at the SpaceShipTwo simulator on Hyperbola.

On Airline Business we have had analysis of what you need to rebrand an airline plus an honest review of Delta's blogging technique blogging technique.

The really off-beat highlights seem to come from Flight International's blog. We of course have the Ryanair calendar girls, with the Spanish WI's response as reported on Airline Business, and we have the real video highlight; i would suggest that you are not eating while watching it though.

All in all a good yeah, and hopefully an equally engaging year to follow.
