The Christmas tree on display at the Tate Britain, Pimlico, London, stands at 30ft. What's interesting about this tree is not the tinsel and glistening baubles but the 123 handmade kit models of all the world's fighter aircraft currently in service.

The Tate commissioned Fiona Banner to create its Christmas tree for 2007, which is titled Peace on Earth.

She says: "It took a long time to collect the models from all over the world. Some
models didn’t exist and I had to construct them from scratch.

"Roosting here in the tree, the relationship between mankind and nature seems to be under interrogation."
