Passengers have been evacuated from a British Airways Boeing 777 after it was severely damaged while landing at London Heathrow.

Anybody else notice that the APU Air Inlet,
just aft of the rudder was OPEN. Did the crew try to start the APU in flight for back-up
electrical/hydraulic power? Just very glad everybody got out OK and looks like a very good job by the crew.
A suggestion, after the investigation, why not chop the wings off and use the fuselage as a Cabin-Trainer?

No fire, thank goodness ... No fuel leaks then ... What was the aircraft's fuel state ???

Just another little thought. If there was a total electrical power failure, would this cause the FADECs to "freeze" at selected power-setting?
