Designs on space

Here's some video footage from the launch of Virgin Galactic unveiling its design.

Virgin's propaganda explains that space flights have all the right elements to excite the right people. "The view from the top is pretty dynamic. Weightlessness is wonderful and memorable."... "see the curvature of the earth, the thin blue line that is the atmosphere, see the colours and textures of the earth...."

A news channel reports Richard Branson's insipration for the launch of Virgin Galactic, namely Stephen Hawking, quadriplegic scientist who said that humans should "get to space quickly."

Branson talks about the "utilisation of space" as "essential for communications, GPS, logistics of survival, climate science, and agricultural monitoring."

AirSpace is hosting a gallery of images of the designs in response to Rob Coppinger's story on flightglobal.com last week.

And Rob Coppinger's blog Hyperbola has a few more videos which he created with his handheld camera while at the White Knight II (WK2) and SpaceShipTwo (SS2) press conference.
