Video Week In Review - January 1-5, 2008

| | Comments (13) | TrackBacks (0) |

Happy Monday!

I'm trying something totally new to kick off 2008 and I wanted to share it with all of you.

As you may remember, I had been doing week ending discussion threads about all the week's big stories. I felt it was time to take that idea one step farther. Below is the first FlightBlogger Aviation Industry week in review video.

It recaps a few of the big stories for the first week of 2008. If all goes well and the response is positive, I'll be doing this every week. It should hopefully be published every Friday. I wanted to get this one out much sooner when I finished it on Saturday, but my blog was giving me some trouble and this is my first chance to post it.

Ultimately, I am requesting your feedback. What do you think? What do you want to see? Is this something I should do regularly? Is it helpful for keeping up with the industry?

Thanks for watching!

I have to say, I personally would rather read a summary article than watch a video, but that's just me.

I like it. Just read it a little slower.

you should be doing CNBC or something.

Jon

I very much enjoy reading your comments. I would rather you spent your time on this valuable effort.

Thanks

I too would rather read a summary than watch a video...particularly if I was doing this from work :)

Nice job. Must have taken a while, but thanks for the info.

Hey Jon,
Great video. Looks very profesional.
I read that some people rather have you write whatever info you might have about aviation. However, some of us enjoy the audiovisual experience, specially when is so well put as the job you did with this one. Thanks man. And thanks again for the effort you put on this blog to give us some inside about what goes on in the world of new airliners!!!

Jon nice video. Looks nice. If you decide to keep doing these i would recommend speaking a little bit more slowly. I under stood you but the information was coming so fast that at times it is hard to keep up. Also I can go either way with this but I also would prefer the written version maybe with commentary or some visual aids. That is what i thought would be a good combination of the two since some people don't like the video.

By the way thanks for all the work you are putting into this, really nice you can't usually find this information any where else online. You have all the 787 news before it becomes available to the public on their website (Boeing) usually. But we understand we have another life other than this.

Liked it a lot thanks for taking the time to do this.

Great work, Jon. I enjoy having it in video form.

Jon:

That was pretty cool. My Advice, (if you have the time) post the video and do a shortened summary for those who like to read it.

Thanks Jon - really enjoyed it. I don't mind the whole youtube experience, but having it available to download as a podcast (video) would be very attractive for some of us (without having to resort to vixy.net to do it for us!)

There's this left-right brain thing that we need to consider. Perhaps, information ought to support each, despite the dual effort.

Why? Research about our mental development as a species shows that benefits accrue from either side, yet they are in some senses almost disjoint in their operation. So, we see advances in some sense more from the one side than the other. Critical thinkers want to read.

Of course, one could argue that a balanced brain would be the one rewarded in evolution. We'll see.

In the meantime, for the upcoming gaming and visual generation, look at text now and then so that your capabilities don't atrophy. On the other side, we have the maxim of a picture being worth many words.

Jon, those who want to read don't want just a manager's summary. Sorry for you having to do the extra effort.

Old Timer.
