Is it my imagination or is that a cupholder to the left of centre in picture 4?
on May 20, 2008 6:54 AM | Reply
The "cupholder" is for the nose wheel steering tiller. Both pilots have one, for steering the plane on the ground.

Whats the current status of flight deck installation on Dreamliner 1?
on May 23, 2008 7:50 AM | Reply
If i remember correctly since the 757, Boeing switched over to having a chocolate/brown interior to their flight decks, but the 787's seems to have switched over to the blue/black scheme. Any ideas why?

That might not be a cupholder, but there appears to be one to it's right...just to the left of the yoke directly below the widscreen mullion.

Probably it's a restyling of the interior after many years. This aircraft is supposed to be a watershed from the past after all, isn't it? Chocolate brownish colours give a sense of antique, while blue/black, grey/black plastic colours are more futuristic.
