"Air France has said they are committed to flying the A380 to Washington Dulles in the Summer of 2010," said Dan Cohen-Nir, Programs Director for Airbus Americas speaking at the Transportation Research Board conference in Washington, DC.
A spokeswoman for Washington Dulles Airport confirmed that the airport has been in conversation with Air France and is preparing for A380 service to begin in 2010.
Air France, which is expected to receive its first A380 later this year, declined to comment on specific markets that would be served, but said the airline is planning to serve the US with the 538-seat superjumbo.
The airline added that an announcement of planned service would come in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

I always thought at AF's first route for their A380 was CDG-JFK. I wouldn't be surprised it that were to be the case.

According to Jon's earlier blog post from a few days ago, AF's first A380 service will be CDG-YUL.

CDG-YUL has always been the first planned AF A380 service. I'm not sure what will fall between YUL and IAD, but JFK could be in there. I'm not sure if IAD is the first US service, but it will be served in Summer 2010.

There's no way AF 388 is coming to JFK! They have a lot of slots there, all of which are currently being served with "small" airplanes (332 or 772). They don't have to use the 388 to increase capacity, suffice to replace the current airplanes with one of their 77W. The 388 is to be used where they lack slots, i.e. IAD, YUL, DXB, NRT...

Could this be the new Air France Livery?
It looks a different silverlike colour and IIRC, the fin colours go right down to the tailcone on current aircraft.
Maybe artistic licence, but who knows?.

I been hearing rumors that Air France will be getting a new livery and the famous bar code would be gone, but this A380 is in silver like an AA aircraft. I hope this is not what we will see in the air.
