Got a few emails this morning me asking if I was alive/alright because I hadn't posted anything in two days and the answer is a resounding yes. I didn't have a chance to post yesterday because I was traveling AND I had to catch up on that little thing called sleep that I skipped last week. So worry not, this FlightBlogger is about to put the throttle to the firewall: It's 787 first flight coverage wall-to-wall...just as soon as I'm done covering the Paris Air Show from here in DC the next two days or so.

The fact that you got these emails after less than 48 hours is rather sad. You are expected to go on a long, uninterrupted vacation after first flight.

Hey Jon,
Welcome back, in your travels at the Paris Air show you didn't happen to hear anything about Sukhoi’s T-50. After the 787 gets flying, I think that aviation enthuists are going turn their attention towards Russia for the T-50's first flight. Have a good week end.

Looking forward to your next post. Check everyday for updates on the B787, thanks for doing a great job!

No, it's not sad. The wire services have been 24/7 for a long time albeit that the original methods of disseminating information were primitive. If the new media is to replace the old, then certain things need discussion and support.
For instance, Jon is digging like the reporter of old. So, it's not just a virtual game for him. If you say what? Note, please, that many supposed news sources are only integrators (oh yes, Boeing wants this for themselves - anyone notice?) who cannot even check their references veracity. What good are they?
Though Jon has sources, which he's learned to vet, I assume, he still follows through so that we can put some notion of trust to his work.
Yet, is flightglobal expecting too much from one resource here?
If Jon goes off-line, perhaps he ought to note this with some expected return time. After all, that is what we would expect in a real physical situation (who wants to drive across town and then see that the guys gone fishing?).

Dear alloycowboy,
Here's a Paris Air Show story about the T-50 PAK-FA.
