Boeing Sets 787 First Delivery for Third Quarter
EVERETT, Wash., Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced today that it expects delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner in the third quarter of this year. The new delivery date reflects the impact of an in-flight incident during testing last November and includes the time required to produce, install and test updated software and new electrical power distribution panels in the flight test and production airplanes.

Seriously! When does some Executive get fired?

Hey RaiDog, have you been paying attention?

The list of “dismissed” and “displaced” executives is already pretty long, and goes back several years.

Fat finger error. Should be read 1Q13 instead of 3Q11.

This statement from Boeing indicates nothing about production rate. How many airplanes does the company expect to deliver in 2011? So far all Boeing has told us is that it will deliver one airplane in 3Q11.

One further note: Boeing is now officially planning to deliver the first 747-8 (two freighter delivers end of 2Q11) before the first 787. Who knew?

They also wanted to deliver the italian tankers by End of 2010. Are the aerodynamic issues fixed and are they delivered yet?
