Nevada based-Bigelow Aerospace's first manned orbital complex technology demonstrator Genesis (not its Genesis II spacecraft) images the fires raging across California, and the company provides some helpful annotation.

Today's news bites are;

NASA is to provide a briefing on its work to develop new radioisotope technology

China insists its exploration missions are for the good of all of humanity

Go here to Hobbyspace.com's good coverage of the International Symposium for Personal Spaceflight taking place in New Mexico

And apparently NASA has felt the need to rebuff claims, probably on internet forums, that they are redesigning the Ares I upper stage. But surely it is only on Design Analysis Cycle (DAC)-2 and is bound to see some changes? They have already altered the propellant tank design. Watch Flight for more Ares info in the near future...

Oh and here's today's Space Shuttle Discovery STS-120 mission picture care of NASA. Spot the starboard wing.
