Our reach is great here at Flight and while I am typing on a French keyboard in a dingy internet "cafe" above a bar on the rue de la plage in rainy Arcachon I have found in my browser accessed email inbox this and other pictures of EADS Astrium's conical capsule proposal - seen below in an official Astrium image

Our photographer also took the following photos of an ESA Columbus laboratory mockup at the air show, I'll leave it to you to guess his motivation

I know ESA is looking for new astronaut candidates but are regulation flight suit zips supposed to be that low?
Tomorrow you can expect a different sort of pretty picture with blog postings from the start of the IAA symposium on private human access to space, being held here in Arcachon this week

I don't think they can afford it. I would expect to see Japanese, Chinese, Ukrainian and maybe Brazilian involvement if ESA put up a station late in the next decade
