At the International Astronautical Congress 2008, held in Glasgow, Scotland last week NASA's crew launch vehicle implementation office manager Charles Cockrell gave a briefing on the 3 October about the Constellation programme's vehicle testing plans

This NASA presentator talked a lot about the verification of the second stage but only briefly touched on the long skinny first stage that gives the ARES-1 nickname "The Stick".
The follow-up questions were certainly interested in the strutural dynamics issues...
