Eutelsat complains that its Eutelsat 25A satellite is being jammed

European commercial satellite operator Eutelsat has formally complained to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and to the Government of Saudi Arabia that transponders aboard its Eutelsat 25A communications satellite, currently being operated over the longitude of 25.5 degrees East in Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO), are being jammed by television signal interference by a regional competitor. 

Eutelsat alleges that since 14 July, television signals are probably deliberately being beamed towards its satellite, hinting that they originate from the Saudi Arabian-based competitor satellite operator Arabsat.   Eutelsat and Arabsat have been in a long running dispute over the rights to broadcast from this location using Ku-band frequencies.
