In Day 1's issue, FlightBlogger gave a guide to the Boeing 747-8i and Craig Hoyle briefed on the Eurofighter Typhoon's role in the Libyan conflict.

The Day 2 issue led on the Dassault Rafale's display and had Dominic Perry's take on the Eurocopter X3, plus a Solar Impulse piece from Kerry Reals, who authors our blog The Green Wing.

And Day 3 brought a Bombardier CRJ1000 cutaway and Ghim-Lay Yeo's tour of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet cabin, plus a Russian aircraft focus.

Also on offer across the issues were news round-ups, galleries, a NATO AGS cutaway and a spotter's quiz.

We also toured inside the Korean AIr A380, the aircraft that saved the day when it stepped in to perform aerial displays in place of the Airbus A380 flight test aircraft, MSN 004 which suffered a damaged wingtip following an incident in which it "touched a structure" during ground manoeuvres at the Le Bourget Airport.

Learmount visited Brooklands Museum where he flew Concorde's simulator next to his copilot Mike Bannister, a former British Airway chief Concorde pilot.

For a price, members of the public can have the same experience. Learmount said: "Mike did all the checklist stuff, set up the speed bugs, told me about attitudes for the key moments, and off we went.

Still on the subject of supersonic aircraft, former Concorde pilot Chris Orlebar, author of the definitive book about that iconic Franco-British aeroplane "The Concorde Story", was also at Brooklands to launch the book's seventh edition which contains Orlebar's speculation about a successor.

Learmount says that Orlebar doesn't pretend to know for sure, "but years spent assembling information about this superspeed phenomenon may have provided him with as good a perspective as anybody alive can have of what's likely to come next."

As reported on the Asian Skies blog, ANA has launched a post-earthquake & tsunami special livery. The livery carries the phrase "Forward together as one Japan". There is now a red dot representing the sun; Japan is referred to as the land of the rising sun, and it is also featured on the wing.

The Chengdu J-20, China's fifth-generation fighter flew for the first time in public, as confirmed by numerous online reports, photos and video of the large, delta-winged aircraft getting airborne. Chinese President Hu Jintao also has confirmed the milestone.

Last week images of its first flight and video footage of it taxiing emerged but were quickly dismissed as a hoax, even by industry experts.

Flightglobal's own Greg Waldron suggested that a true Chinese combat aircraft is probably well over a decade away from readiness. He was sceptical as to why the Chinese military chose to introduce the world to its J-20 with images that emerged through plane spotters' postings on the Internet.

There's a great post on RunwayGirl about a campaign by social networking site Facebook aimed at convincing United Airlines to go fleet-wide with in-flight WiFi.

"United is the only major airline without WiFi. United for WiFi is a grassroots effort aimed at bringing inflight internet to United Airlines. We run the gamut from business professionals to casual flyers and we need our internet 10,000 feet up!"

Search for the Twitter trending topic #SMairlines to follow the thread of discussion from Airline Business and SimpliFlying's recent Social Media for Airlines conference in London. Delegate @avaltat from Eurocontrol, among many others shared their experiences of how social media has worked for their organisations.

British Airways has repainted one of its Boeing 757-200s in a retro livery, dating back 27 years, to mark the retirement of the type from its fleet this month.

The livery matches that used by the airline when the 757 entered service and features the single brand 'British' and 'speedbird' logo on the forward fuselage, and the familiar Union flag design on the fin.

India's first US-built military transport made its debut flight, with the Lockheed Martin C-130J. The first of six stretched-fuselage Hercules on order for the Indian air force, aircraft KC-3801 will be followed by two more examples getting airborne "within the next few weeks", Lockheed says.

Runway Girl Mary Kirby writes a post about economy seating in the Boeing 787. Recaro Comfort Line's "ultra slim seating", which Mary says is already installed in Qantas Airways' Airbus A380 economy-class cabins "is attracting a lot of interest from airlines", and suggests Boeing is considering a version of the same seating may be used. "Hey, it's got hammocks for your feet! Why the hell not?" she says.
