Look who is launching the Cirrus seat – US Airways!!!

US Airways, a carrier that is not known for innovation in the interiors space, is about to make a very bold move by launching Sicma Aero Seat’s ultra-cool Cirrus lie-flat bed on its new Airbus A330-200s.

The seat, which was designed by James Park Associates and unveiled at the Aircraft Interiors show in Hamburg, is on display at Sicma parent Zodiac Aerospace’s exhibit at the Paris Air Show. And baby, it is sweet (it’s also a stark contrast to the US Airways economy-class experience I had on my flight last week from Philly to Paris, but I digress).

Check out the pics below from the show. US Airways will launch new service between Philadelphia and Tel Aviv with the first two of five A330s it is taking this year. Now I wonder who is providing the IFE…hmmmmm.

I don’t like it- it looks a lot like a cubicle… and frankly, that frightens me. It’s just another reason not to fly US Air. I learnt to hate those guy when I lived in Philly.

As a fellow Philly-area gal (well, Lancaster), I understand one’s frustration over US Airways. Totally!

I’m sure it’s just a generic color, but it looks very bland. Hopefully US uses the blue/navy color for the seat itself. The “cubicle” would look good in a sage or maroon color.

The mini cabinet/fridge? reminds me of EK business class.

Mary Kirby, looking great as usual! Thanks for not being too negative regarding Kinglobjaw’s favorite airline.

    Keep blogging, Mary!
