VIDEO: Lufthansa economy class makes steerage bearable

Mary screen.JPGIf you’ve got to fly between the USA and Europe, and you’re relegated to steerage class (like most of us), then Lufthansa is an excellent choice.

The German carrier’s economy class product is really sound. I gave it a try on a recent flight from Philadelphia to Munich via Frankfurt.

But while the airline’s current offering is good, Lufthansa is poised to step it up even further when the carrier reignites in-flight Internet on overseas flights.

Yet another reason for me to return to Germany soon :)

Employing hand models now, you must be going up in the world!

According to seatguru the pitch is 31-32 which isn’t exemplary and the width is 17.5″ which is about as narrow as you get. In my opinion no IFE can make up for a miserable seat.

You are right with LH service. I travel a lot with them and they offer the higher standard service in the industry in Europe. Only the food, on European routes, is better with Turkish Airlines. Definitely the better one.

Hmmm. It all looks a bit unremarkable. Multichannel inflight entertainment AND a hot meal? Wow! ;)

I do a lot of 12 hour flights between UK and Japan and the service you desccribe is the minimum I’d expect (and receive) from all the carriers running direct flights. What would have been nice to see is some direct comparisons of what you highlighted against other carriers, or to at least explain why you think the service is better than other carriers. As it is, it looks like an advert for LH!!
