VIDEOS: Air New Zealand gets (sort of) filthy in-flight

Rico.JPGAir New Zealand has unleashed “Rico” – the Love Popsicle – on the world.

He suggests that we touch her (the in-flight entertainment) lightly, ahem.

Is this pushing the limits? Well, it’s Air New Zealand after all, the same carrier that brought us those racy, award-winning safety videos.

Ugh. Sorry AirNZ – as cute as you might think this is, it’s not.

Go back to videos criticising people using sign language.

Well these will certainly be.. Memorable.

I guess that’s the goal of marketing, right?

To be honest – yes! In the mass of content you receive every day, Air New Zealand is hoping you remember them. I think their old-fashioned humour (this is 70s-esque) is admirable and funny. It’s a welcome piece of honesty in a very dishonest world.

Shouldn’t the rodent be in the hold? Apologies if that phrase also turns out to be some form of ’70s smut …

I think it’s pretty funny, and they are always trying to get a funny way to poke your imagination and make their brand stick…

I also like what they did in the cabin design

This is really great marketing from the “Kiwi’s”! This sticks for sure, and yes it’s adult language for……adults.

Air New Zealand, job well done!

Wierd ugly unfunny. Strange for Air NZ to put this forward. Not befitting a company that wants to be seen as professional.

While Im not a prude- Id love ‘being blown by a kiwi bitch’ and wouldnt mind ‘licking her crack’ I find this is completely inappropriate for Air nZ to use this line in an ad. Especially when the company has censured staff for sending slightly blue jokes via email. Kind of hypocritical of them I think.

My wife works for this airline and apparently there is much disquiet amongst them regarding this marketing campaign. Many of them are very uncomfortable with this.

    Theyve jumped the shark.

As a Kiwi living overseas i was embarrassed when someone told me about air New Zealand ads.And after watching them for myself you should be ashamed they are the worst ads I have seen it would be fine if you were advertising a porn holiday.. please someone at air New Zealand use your brain and pull the ads. I have been told by a few people they would not fly air new Zealand if this is there idea of customer service. I have also been told by people who work in the airline industry here that they were shocked as they always thought Air New Zealand had high standards but rest assured that image has been blown out the water by your campaign.
