VIDEO: Saab remembers the Draken

The blog will likely be inactive this week while I deal with a family emergency. My apologies in advance. In the meantime, enjoy one of my new favorite videos on YouTube. Saab posted this video last Thursday, digging a promotional video on the Draken fighter out of their archives from the 1950s. It’s Swede-tastic!

I now think I know where Gerry Anderson got his inspiration for the Thunderbirds from!

Thanks for the great clip and I appreciate how well it plays on my computer at full display level. I think the Draken may rank as the greatest “pound for pound” fighter aircraft accomplishment. It is amazing a country the size of Sweden in the 1950′s could produce such an outstanding fighter plane. Cheers.
