Watch A400M at Berlin air show

My colleagues covering the ILA air show in Berlin this week captured the Airbus A400M’s flying display yesterday. It’s definitely worth a good look. Also, read Craig Hoyle’s article.

    Looking good – eventually!
Is it me or is it IDENTICAL in airframe to the C17, just smaller and with a turboprop?

16 years earlier the An-70 flew and was much more capable and graceful. EADS had a chance to shine… they had a chance to beat out Lockheed at its own game and to pull some orders away from Boeing’s C-17. This project is so overwhelmingly ho-hum. They will never sell enough for EADS to come close to breaking even. I wish they had put more CASA into her pedigree then they did the Transall…again, should have learned from their mistakes and successes.

WOW! Looking very good! What an exciting plane to watch fly. Those turboprops seem to say ‘game on’.
