Emirates, Etihad win more rights to France

The UAE has finally received the much requested additional air services rights from France, report multiple sources. The discussions were later focused on a Rafale order  in exchange for the additional rights, The DEW Line had reported in 2010.

The airlines are believed to have received 22 additional rights into France, which include additional flights into Paris Charles De Gaulle, as well as cities such as Lyon, Toulouse and Marseille.
Air France reportedly had strongly opposed this deal as extra flights from Middle Eastern carriers would further threaten its market share. Thai and SIA, too have reportedly seen its traffic to Paris decline in recent past as more passengers are preferring to transit at Middle East.

The present scheduled traffic between France and UAE is as follows

Paris – Dubai

EK74 – Daily A380-800 ( 3542 weekly seats – Three class )
EK76 – Daily B. 777 ( 2494 weekly seats – Three class )

Air France
AF3830 – Daily B. 777-300ER ( 3405 weekly seats – Three class )

Nice – Dubai

EK78 – Daily A330-200 ( 1757 weekly seats – Three class )

Paris – Abu Dhabi

EY32 – Daily A330-200 ( 1512 weekly seats – Three class )
EY37 – Thrice weekly A330-300 ( 609 weekly seats – Three class )

Air France
AF3848 – Five weekly A330-200 ( 1040 weekly seats – Two class )
