China Eastern Files to End AA codeshare, to Join with Delta


 China Eastern Airlines yesterday filed with the US Department of Transportation to end its 13yr old codesharing accord with American Airlines. The two has been codesharing on each other’s flights between the USA and China since 1998.

 The termination of the agreement follows MU’s entry into SkyTeam and AA’s launch of its own Los Angeles – Shanghai services.
 Also on yesterday, Delta Air Lines filed with the US DoT to enter into a codeshare agreement with MU, anticipating the latter’s entry into the SkyTeam alliance.
 The wide-ranging codeshare agreement proposal by Delta covers the following routes
