Delta Air Lines, with effect from 22nd March is suspending service to Tokyo Haneda. The carrier has taken the decision owing to the poor demand expected in the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. The route had already been suffering from low yield owing to its unattractive timings.
The Detroit - Haneda leg will be suspended from 22nd of March, while the Los Angeles - Haneda flights will be suspended from 23rd of March.
The service is scheduled to resume from 31st May from Detroit and 2nd June from Los Angeles with Boeing 777-200ER equipment replacing present Boeing 747-400.
