Hawaiian Airlines is continuing its expansion in Japan, with the addition of Fukuoka as its third Japanese destination. The new service will launch on 16th April 2012, and will operate daily on board Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Hawaiian’s 763 is configured for 262 seats.

Delta Airlines too announced plans for its own route from Honolulu to Fukuoka earlier this month. The new service will launch on 28th December and will operate on board 209 seater Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Delta’s service will however only operate during the Winter season. The operational days per week varies.

“Demand for our services in Japan from Tokyo and Osaka has been extremely strong, and we are responding to similar demand for Hawaii from the travel community in Fukuoka,” Hawaiian CEO Mark Dunkerley said.

Hawaiian already serves Tokyo and Osaka from Honolulu, with both services operating daily.
