Lufthansa expands into Qingdao and Shenyang

 Lufthansa joins the battle of Chinese expansion by becoming the next European carrier to launch flights to a secondary Chinese city next year.
 Effective 26th March 2012, the German carrier will be launching flights to Qingdao and Shenyang out of Frankfurt. It will operate a three weekly Airbus A340-300 service on the route. The capacity for this route comes from the cancellation of the Guangzhou route.

 Lufthansa is the first long haul carrier to launch flights into Shenyang, while it had a brief stint in Qingdao out of Munich, in 2009.
