The Berlin Brandenburg airport opening has been pushed back to 17 March 2013. It was originally due to open on 3rd June 2012.
The supervisory board overseeing the airport's development announced that the primary contractor's agreement has been terminated, while the airport's present Managing Director too would be leaving.
It is believed that the incomplete safety systems, and certain other issues caused the delay.
Berlin Tegel airport will stay open for six months after the opening of Brandenburg Airport and will be handling all flights till the opening.
