Scoot, SIA's long haul low cost carrier, has had its IATA identifier changed with effect from 14th May 2012. The airline had been previously assigned the code OQ, with which IATA had run into 'unforseen technical circumstances' according to Scoot. It has now been assigned the identifier TZ.
OQ had been previously used by Zambian Express Airways and Sunrise Airlines, and can often be misunderstood as 0X. It is also being used by Chongqing Airlines, operating in the same areas as Scoot does. TZ was previously used by American Trans Air (ATA).
Currently booked passengers will be reissued confirmations, a statement from the airline said
