Delta Air Lines has announced that it will be suspending its New York - Istanbul service in Winter 2012 season. The airline had planned to operate this route five times per week throughout the Winter season - but will now instead suspend it from 17th November onwards.
Delta's exit from this route appears to be driven by high competition, on this route connecting to a rival Star Alliance hub where there is little feed for SkyTeam.
