Hawaiian and V Australia Seek Approval to Code-share

 Hawaiian Airlines has applied to the Department of Transportation (DoT) to enter into a code-share deal with V Australia.
 Once approved, the following routes operated by Hawaiian will carry the V Australia designator code.

Honolulu - Hilo
Honolulu - Kahului
Honolulu - Kona
Honolulu - Lihue
Honolulu - Sydney

 Hawaiian Airlines already has an inter-line agreement in place with V Australia and is a partner of V Australia's Velocity Rewards loyalty programme.

JetBlue and Qatar Airways sign interline agreement

JetBlue (IATA:B6) yesterday announced that it has signed an interline agreement with Qatar Airways(IATA:QR).
The two airlines will connect each other's networks via New York, JFK and Washington, IAD.
"Qatar Airways' hub in Doha is strategically placed to connect East and West, with a timetable so carefully orchestrated that transit times on popular routes are as little as 30 minutes, a connection time which we comfortably can meet," said Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker.
Qatar operates daily flights from Doha to Houston, New York and Washington in the USA.
The new agreement will provide jetBlue's customers the access to a range of destinations that were not possible previously.

SIA and Transaero apply for Russia - US codeshare

Singapore Airlines (IATA:SQ) and Transaero (IATA:UN) have jointly filed an application to the US DoT for codesharing on the former's Moscow (DME) - Houston route.
As per the application, Transaero requests the authority to connect passengers from anywhere in Russia to the US, via the SQ service. The two airlines plan to make the codeshare effective as soon as the approval is received.
Singapore Airlines has been very successful on getting First class, Business class and cargo loads on its Singapore - Moscow - Houston flight, but has been struggling to find Economy class passengers. The carrier's average load factor into Houston averaged 57% inbound and 51% outbound for the month of April, 2011.

 Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia, which late last year received approval for a trans-Tasman joint network, has announced that the joint operations will commence from Winter 2011 ( effective 30th October ).
 The two airlines will be connecting each others domestic points with ANZ operating 70% of the trans-Tasman flights and Virgin Australia ( under Pacific Blue ) the remaining 30%.
 The two airlines will adjust flight times on some sectors while there will be transferring of capacity between the two airlines where necessary.

Wellington - Brisbane : Pacific Blue will increase its servces to twice daily from the present four-weekly

Christchurch - Brisbane : Combined twice daily flights

Queenstown - Sydney : Combined five-times weekly service. Previously both airlines operated twice weekly, on same days of the week.

Wellington - Sydney : ANZ will operate twice daily services.

Pacific Blue will be taking over ANZ's services connecting Dunedin with Sydney and Melbourne.

ANZ will be taking over the Auckland - Cairns route.

Total capacity out of Wellington will increase by 3.5% while Christchurch will see a reduction of about 14% to match the reduced demand following the recent earthquake.

 There are also numerous other capacity adjustmnets.

Air New Zealand Starts Code-share with Etihad

 Air New Zealand has entered into a code-share pact with Etihad Airways for Etihad flights operated beyond Australia.

The destinations include Abu Dhabi, Singapore and London Heathrow. The connecting points are Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

 China Eastern Airlines yesterday filed with the US Department of Transportation to end its 13yr old codesharing accord with American Airlines. The two has been codesharing on each other's flights between the USA and China since 1998.
 The termination of the agreement follows MU's entry into SkyTeam and AA's launch of its own Los Angeles - Shanghai services.
 Also on yesterday, Delta Air Lines filed with the US DoT to enter into a codeshare agreement with MU, anticipating the latter's entry into the SkyTeam alliance.
 The wide-ranging codeshare agreement proposal by Delta covers the following routes
