Is it true that the water supply for the shower is somewhat limited & is filtered & recycled for the next user?If this is the case I think I would want to be at the head of the queue.There is also the possibility that the initial total volume of "water" could increase as the flight progresses.

Not sure about that - may well be true. But I do know that they've reduced the amount of water carried because they didn't use as much as expected. http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2009/10/08/333229/emirates-rules-out-747-8i-but-very-keen-on-777-developments.html
