The ARES I Program is seeking an expert Supplier Program Manager for propulsion and pyrotechnics supplier(s). The selected candidate will manage a major subcontractor or a combination of several medium to small subcontracts. The critical Supplier Program Management responsibilities include: establishing and continually strengthening the partner relationship between Boeing and the supplier(s). Ability to monitor supplier business health. Ability to address Boeing concerns with supplier as s well as supplier concerns with Boeing. Serves as the primary contact and leader for the Boeing/supplier team. Communicates across stakeholders to report status and concerns, and to achieve compliance with Boeing procurement strategy and contractual compliance. The selected candidate will lead in sourcing and business development strategy and contract development across the enterprise. Provide comprehensive industry intelligence to others, coordinates or supports the evaluation of supplier proposals, including terms and conditions, pricing, schedule, risk assessment, best value, technical considerations, etc., of products/services to identify the appropriate supplier to fulfill the customer requirement. May establish and lead the negotiation team in discussions with the supplier to achieve desired business unit or program goals. Manage all aspects of supplier relationship and performance throughout all contract phases. Collect and analyze supplier performance data to assure supplier performance meets all Boeing requirements. Provide technical and business direction to suppliers by developing plans to improve performance and ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled. May serve as team leader of cross-company teams. Integrates enterprise-wide procurement activities by participating on cross functional teams and consulting with executive level supplier focal to plan and manage work with suppliers in order to meet multiple business objectives. Respond to industry-wide program or in-service issue(s). Conduct on-site evaluations, root-cause analysis and identifies solutions to establish the basis for recovery plans, corrective action and preventative actions. Work across organization/enterprise to determine priorities for deliveries, necessary supplier corrective actions and resolution of issues to ensure contractual compliance. Communicate across stakeholders to report status and concerns and to achieve compliance with Boeing enterprise procurement strategies. Act as a consultant and leads continuous supplier assessments and mentoring of best practices. Lead contract performance reviews, regular site visits, design reviews, rate readiness reviews, lean assessments, preferred supplier process and metrics. Continuously improves supplier performance and lower supplier cost. Identify supplier capacity/capability to perform current and projected work statement, support Boeing procurement strategy and contractual compliance. Research and develop new innovative methods to measure key supplier and internal performance indicators, analyzes performance data and prepares visual aids to lead periodic performance reviews. Direct complex high-risk work movement projects by verifying that the elements of the work movement plan are credible and complete. Manage plan activities to ensure that supplier produces conforming and compliant products on time. Provide technical assistance to ensure cost, delivery schedule compliance and product conformity.

Typical Education/Experience

 

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 18 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Other Job related information

 

Experience and demonstrated ability in the development and production of space flight systems. Preferably experience in structural, propulsion and pyrotechnic systems. This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. US Citizenship Required.
