This position is for an engineering summer intern in the Puget Sound Area, specifically the Propulsion Technology organization, under Engineering and Information Technology in Boeing Research and Technology (R&T). The candidate will support a wide variety of current propulsion research and technology development activities. The candidate will support the development and validation of new propulsion-related technologies and support implementation of those technologies to future Boeing programs. The intent of this position is to expose new and future engineers to the breadth of the technology development activities across the Propulsion organization. The candidate will be tasked to support a range of programs depending on the intern's interests and the Propulsion group's project needs. As such, the intern will have the opportunity to support enabling technology projects in areas such as commercial nacelle aerodynamics, supersonic propulsion system integration, propeller and open-rotor propulsion systems, and rocket and cruise missile propulsion systems. The position will require relocation to the Puget Sound area and may have some business travel requirements.

Minimum of two years of aerospace or mechanical engineering course work and basic understanding of fluid mechanics, propulsion, and aerodynamics engineering principles is required. Advanced graduate level course work is desirable. Ability to interpret engineering data and analysis is desirable. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
