Lead a multi discipline Logistics team to develop Logistics support products for an IT based Network System for the U.S. Navy. Responsible for ILS management activities associated with development and delivery of Reliability, Maintainability, System Safety, Human System Integration, Logistics Support Analysis, Customer Training, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Development, and Supply Support. Will manage the coordination and integration of Logistics data from commercial product developers into a comprehensive Logistics support package to satisfy contractual needs. Candidate will ensure that Network supportability and maintainability requirements are integrated into the design process to achieve a balance between system design and support. Position includes directing product definition, design influence, and industry standards to enhance supportability of the Network. Will also be the primary interface to the Customer's Logistics organization to provide coordination and cooperation between program design activities and Logistics product development.

 Engineering Analysis

 Integrated Logistics Support
Advanced/expert knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) disciplines including logistics engineering, logistics support analysis, technical publications, support equipment, spares, provisioning, field services, maintenance, etc., supporting product lifecycle, and the interaction between departments in order to resolve complex issues within all ILS elements.

Typical Education/Experience

 

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information

 

Successful candidate shall have domain knowledge related to U.S. Navy shipboard system support, Naval supply chain, and Naval operation and maintenance processes for equipment support. In addition, shall have a broad understanding of ILS acquisition principles with respect to developing and integration of ILS products. It is desired that the candidate have an understanding of the operation of IT based networks and associated support and maintenance activities. Knowledge of ILS product development standards such as S1000D, MIL-HDBK-470, MIL-HDBK-502, MIL-PRF-49506, and related handbooks and standards to aid in the developing of required products. Candidate shall also have experience in managing an ILS development program with associated management experience in risk management, Earned Value Management, schedule management, and other related program management techniques. It is desired that the candidate possess a Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics and 14 or more years experience in Logistics and/or Engineering. This position is contingent on the award of a competitive contract expected between November 2009 and January 2010. The prime work location will be at the Boeing Offices in San Diego, CA with periodic travel to the Boeing offices in Huntington Beach, CA.
