Technical Strategy Manager - Communications Infrastructure Architecture
Fully accountable for effective management of the UK-based Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams, and for their governance in line with specified processes, for the production of deliverable satellite and radio (Tropo, High frequency, Digital Microwave Radio System, Secure Mobile Radio)communications capability strategy.
Responsible for maintaining UK technical advisor competence at the required levels to meet customer needs, and to support business development and new business objectives as appropriate.
Responsible for the assimilation and dissemination of leading technical best practice and capability.
Responsible to the GPT Head of New Business for the delivery of quality technical output required to support Riyadh-based customer facing functions.
As such, the Techncial Strategy Manager will:
Define and deliver and maintain a Satellite and Radio Communications strategy and acquisition / implementation plan.
Be the subject matter expert for satellite and radio communications infrastructure architecture.
Ensure that design and practice is conducted and wholly resourced appropriately in the UK office to specified standards;
Be responsible for the appropriate management of the UK team with regard to commercial contractual obligations
Be the prime European point of contact for technical matters
Fully accountable for managing the UK technical team and output within budget, and for completing appropriate commercial processes required to facilitate/support financial revenue.
Fully accountable for maintaining records of personnel effort/time in accordance with specified standard practice.
Responsible for delivering operations to current best practice within budget constraints.
Delegated budget responsibility with authorised limits, appropriate for the position
Local authority on approval of preliminary design reviews.
Essential
UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
Design management experience in major space communications infrastructure systems programmes.
Detailed knowledge of space and other radio frequency bearer communications systems.
Proven track record in similar role, managing teams and working to tight timescales
Good standard of written and spoken English
Desirable
Experience in delivery of communications services
Experience of living or working in the Middle East
