An experienced manager is needed to lead the Communications team for Command, Control, Communications (C3) Networks program, based in Huntington Beach, CA. This position, reporting to the director of Network & Space Systems (N&SS) Communications, and C3N VP/GM, provides Communications support and counsel to C3N leaders and other Communicators. This person will be responsible for working with the C3 Networks programs and team at all sites, C3N Business Development, and the broader N&SS team.
This manager will also supervise employees and mid-level managers performing activities related to the C3N strategic communications plan, develop plans to support business goals and objectives and develop and deliver key Communications messages. This manager will also develop and execute integrated organizational plans, and will guide the development of business and technical messages for C3N. This manager approves and reviews all internal and external messages and plans.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with the external Public Affairs customers, other stakeholders, partners and direct reports. Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.

This position requires an experienced communicator with proven leadership skills, a strong understanding of the defense industry, aerospace and the Washington, D.C. environment. Ability to work in a collaborative and virtual environment is paramount. It also requires typically 13-15 years of relevant experience. Must demonstrate ability to: Analyze and understand broad business objectives to develop innovative communications strategies. Apply advanced/expert writing skills to various communication materials (e.g., news releases, news and feature articles, promotional materials, brochures, web communications, presentations, speeches) to meet customer requirements. Identify, create and execute a hierarchy of activities and tasks based on criticality; adjust priorities when appropriate. Effectively allocate own time to complete work, and coordinate own and others' schedules to avoid conflicts and maximize resources.
