Commercial Airplanes is looking for a Communications Specialist Level 5 to support Global Corporate Citizenship (GCC) and State & Local Government Relations (SLGR). The successful candidate will be familiar with the Pacific Northwest region, its culture, issues and political system. The specialist's role is to provide timely and credible information to key audiences to motivate them to support Boeing and GCC/SLGR objectives. The job is broad-based and requires senior-level proficiency in core practitioner skills. Specifically, the job includes:
Communications Planning and Execution-Partners with key stakeholders to develop and execute communication plans, strategies and tactics that support Boeing and GCC/SLGR objectives. Co-leads the integrated conditioning plan team.
Reputation and Issues Management-Working with internal and external groups, leads the development of communications positioning, plans and strategies in anticipation of and response to relationship or reputation risks to the company related to the mission of GCC/SLGR.
Media Relations-Develops and maintains relationships with key media outlets-traditional and new media-especially those reaching individual communities and diverse ethnic groups, and leverages them to tell the Boeing story. Monitors and analyzes content to anticipate potential events and issues, and assess impact to the company.
Executive Support-Supports the GCC/SLGR vice president and his leadership team. Counsels management on communication strategies and tactics, and provides advice and guidance regarding visibility plans; develops and executes an executive visibility plan. Researches, organizes and drafts reports, speeches and presentation materials for management to deploy key messages. Determines priorities and needs and translates them into appropriate actions.
Internal Communications-Leverages internal communication channels to share information about Boeing presence and investment in the PNW with employees. Use these tools to inform and engage employees in company-sponsored events, programs and activities. Plans, coordinates and implements planned and emergent special events for employees and other key audiences.
GCC Support-Develops and proactively maintains effective relationships with the communications offices of the nonprofits organizations and educational institutions that align with Boeing objectives. Manages communications for GCC sponsorships, working with benefiting agencies and organizations. Manages communications for the company's special-interest drives, appeals and projects. Serves as focal point for trademark approvals relative to sponsorships.
Employees Community Fund (ECF) Support-Provides support to ECF, specifically, leads communication for the fund's annual campaign and ongoing promotion. Leads the development of Fund information and materials, including the ECF annual report and communication around trustee elections.
Practitioner Skills-Applies comprehensive communications skills, including planning and writing for a wide variety of media and technologies. Creates presentation materials incorporating multimedia and other innovative features. Demonstrates the ability to benchmark best practices, analyze research data and recommend appropriate actions to meet GCC/SLGR objectives. Applies brand and communications standards to ensure a positive presentation of the Boeing image, and consistent and clear communication. Demonstrates sound judgment and understanding of communication and audience development. Leads teams and provides guidance to lower-level communicators as needed. Demonstrates project management skills. Competent in budget forecasting and management.

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree and proven related work experience, a Master's degree and proven related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
