Computer Application Programmer (IBM DB2/ CICS)

Summary:

Plans, Organizes, Develops, Maintain and implements Computer Programs designed to process information, solve problems, and simulate situations of an administrative nature.

Duties:

• Interface with users to develop requirements specifications using structured analytical techniques. Manage projects with multiple tasks.
• Specify program test requirements.
• Determine correctness of applications programs before implementation.
• Conduct system design reviews.
• Conduct complete applications development feasibility studies.
• Technically leads the design effort on applications systems.
• Apply the concepts of software configuration management and quality assurance

Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, data processing, Math. Engineering or Statistics, or equivalent data processing experience.
• Requires a minimum of ten (10) years experience in COBOL, TSO and IMS in an MVS environment.
• Requires a minimum of six (6) years experience in program analysis and design which may be concurrent with above
• Requires a minimum of three (3) years experience managing application development tasks or projects that may be concurrent with above.
• Requires an in-depth knowledge, and have applied, state -of-the-art structured analysis and development methodology.
• Requires an understanding of the application of concepts of software quality assurance and configuration control.
• Knowledge of IBM Utilities, Data-Base Utilities and Debugging Tools
