Environmental Project Engineer (Hertfordshire)UK
Please note all candidates will need to be able to obtain Security Clearance to be considered for this vacancy. Therefore you will need to have been a permanent UK resident for the last 5 years and hold a British passport to be eligible for this role.
Extremely well respected in the Defence industry our client is a world-leading missile and missile systems manufacturer.
Working with nearly 100 armed forces worldwide our client is the only Group capable of designing and producing missiles and missile systems to meet the whole range of current and future operational requirements for the three armed forces (army, navy, air force). Overall, the Group offers a range of 45 products in service and another 15 in development.
Positioned at the heart of the European defence sector as well as establishing cooperative transatlantic links with the principal groups in the US defence industry our client has demonstrated its ability to bring together the best skills across the whole of Europe, and has succeeded in becoming the prime contractor for a series of strategic multi-national programmes.
They now have a requirement for an Environmental Project Engineer in Hertfordshire.
Salary circa £39k
ROLE PURPOSE:To undertake a full range of Environmental engineering activities within the environmental skill area, supplying specialist advice and support across the department and projects as appropriate.
REPORTS TO: GROUP LEADER ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
ACCOUNTABILITIES
oProviding expertise in Writing Environmental Requirement Specifications (ERSs), including Proving Plans and Proving Requirements in support of product development.
oProviding assessment of all relevant environmental requirements and their interpretation into design and test levels for the complete product and for its sub-systems, while maintaining overall consistency of logic and approach across projects
oManagement of Technical Working Groups to review requirements, test processes, test parameters in compliance with customer requirements and national & international standards.
oTechnical management of the environmental programme, including support to reliability growth and related activities, and preparing compliance statements for Project, sub-system Design Authorities and the Customer.
oApplying technical knowledge in a range of simulation techniques (including data acquisition, signal processing & analysis tools) as well as climatic, shock & vibration and Structural Mechanical & fatigue testing
oProviding expertise in the measurement and analysis of operational environments including field trials and flight data analysis) in support of Requirements Specification development
oProviding Expert knowledge in all aspects of measurement instrumentation (including temperature, humidity, acceleration, velocity, stress/strain, solar radiation, acoustic noise, etc
oProviding expertise in requirements management in support of Certification

oIn depth Knowledge of Test and Measurement Instrumentation
