Responsible for oversight of environmental investigation, cleanup and monitoring of surface and subsurface media (soil, surface water and groundwater). Responsible for tracking compliance, quality, project schedules and financial performance. Assist in developing remediation strategies to ensure compliance, reduce short and long term risk, and complete projects according to aggressive targets. Conducts periodic project status meetings for Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) senior management. Coordinates with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and agency approval and consistency with work plans and compliance requirements. Performs environmental assessments for a variety of businesses and property transactions, Provides recommendations in order to make informed business decisions regarding environmental liability associated with real property and business transactions. Directs vendor, contractor and supplier activities associated with environmental services (e.g., remediation, waste disposal, and abatement) by preparing bid specifications, evaluating and tracking performance, invoice approval and auditing performance to verify contract performance. Supports public outreach activities including meetings, developing fact sheets, etc. Works effectively with other Boeing functions including communications, finance, legal, supplier management, site services, etc.

Typical Education/Experience

 

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Environmental remediation project manager for soil and groundwater cleanup activities. Responsibilities include management of environmental investigation, remediation and compliance activities. Project management responsibilities include project planning, supervising contractors, reviewing and approval of project documents, project management (cost, schedule, quality, and safety), ensuring regulatory compliance, meeting performance requirements. Ability to work and communicate effectively with other internal and external organizations. Will require travel, primarily between southern California sites and other out-of-state locations. Alternative work location at Santa Susana , CA will be considered.
