Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Under direction of the Site Manager and Assistant Site Manager; Supervisor establishes and assigns work schedules, sequence of operations, and distribution of work, explains work requirements methods and procedures; oversees guides and mentor employees at same or lower job classification level; assists with resolving problems.
* Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the overseeing and coordination with maintenance control of scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on F-18 E-F aircraft airframe, ordnance, egress/life support system, power plants and related systems, tracking, monitoring and reporting of all aircraft statuses.
* Supervisor shall have Naval Organizational Level experience and documented qualifications on the F-18 E-F platform that they are hired and assigned to support within VX-31.
* Supervisor maintains the line of effective communication between the company Site Management, Leadmen and Working leads/Team Leads and the employee and/or the customer in defined area.
* Reviews work-in-progress for correctness and conformance to standards and requirements as delineated in technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals and communicates technical disparities to the engineers.
* Responsible for approving and coordinating personnel leaves, maintaining time and attendance records, counseling employees on minor problems and making recommendations on appraisals, promotions, awards and corrective actions.
* As a Supervisor you will be a point of contact and company representative for mentoring employees and challenging them to realize their full potential.
* Complete safety accident/incident reports in detail, assisting with root cause analogy for further prevention to provide a safe working environment for all employees while adhering to safety standards, policies and procedures of the company and the customer.
Education and Experience:
Education:
* Optimum candidates are high school graduates and shall have completed the appropriate T/M/S aircraft specific Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school in airframe, egress, hydraulic, ordnance, power plants and related systems or USMC/USCG equivalent.
Experience:
* Optimum candidates shall have proven experience in USN/USMC/USCG Organizational Level maintenance in the specific T/M/S hired to supervise.
* 3-5 years documented Supervisory experience.
* Optimum candidate will have Organizational Level maintenance as well as management experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Specialized Knowledge:
* The Qualified Candidate shall possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical project engineers and customers alike.
* Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
* Strong root cause analysis skills are desired.
* Strong Production management skills are needed.
* This Supervisor will be required to attend AWL workload meetings, attend Shift change maintenance meetings, be responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts in support of the VX-31 Flight Schedule.
Skills:
* Experience as F-18 E-F Production manager, Plane Captain, Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR); High/Low Engine Turn Qualified, APU Turn Qualified, Work Center Supervisor, Maintenance Material Control Supervisor, Data Analyst, Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO), Load Team Leader, Flight Deck Troubleshooter and Flight Deck Coordinator is strongly desired.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong multi-tasking skills.
* Excellent organizational skill with the ability to effectively forecast work load, establish priorities and communicate orally and in writing with Senior Maintenance Department Leadership to formulate a strategy to meet the aircraft delivery schedule and eliminate aircraft down time.
* The ability to guide and mentor employees of same and lower levels in proper procedure.
* Ability to work in a high pressure environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
* Will primarily work indoors with small amounts of time exposed to the elements.
* This is an "on the floor and in the office environment" that involves constant monitoring, communicating work activities with the employee and the customer.
* Nights, overtime, and being on site when needed may occur but normally this will be a "days" position, working a standard shift.
Optimum Qualifications:
* Must have a valid US State Driver's License and qualify for and maintain a Secret Level Clearance.
