Provides field operation and/or support of delivered equipment. Coordinates the development of routine troubleshooting procedures to isolate equipment problems. Provides interpretation of technical documents. Provides specialized on-the-job training to customers. Develops and provides solutions to a wide variety of technically complex problems. Performs business activities and assists the administrative functions of a field office. Works under general direction of office manager.
Representative Major Tasks;
1.Coordinates the development of routine troubleshooting procedures by using established processes and communicating with functional organizations (e.g., engineering, program office, customer) to isolate equipment problems.
2.Develops relationships with immediate customers and their senior leadership by communicating and understanding their needs, expectations, and requirements, soliciting customer feedback, and taking action to ensure customer satisfaction with the company's products and service.
3.Provides assistance with the interpretation of technical documents (e.g., orders, manuals, maintenance manuals, operating procedures, drawings, interactive electronic technical manual) by communicating with operators/maintainers to ensure the intent and purpose of the documentation is understood and followed.
4.Documents field site activities by preparing and transmitting reports (e.g., customer/site activity, technical/operational data, problems, publication change requests, continuous process improvement data) to provide status of product/customer issues and developments.
5.Develops and provides solutions to a wide variety of technically complex problems with limited assistance.
Representative Additional Tasks;
1.Monitors and reports customer information (e.g., business developments, key personnel changes, business opportunities) that could be used in marketing and sales of Boeing products and services.
2.Maintains established field office by performing administrative functions (e.g., technical library, mail process, security credentials, office arrangement). Performs business activities by using established company/field service policies and procedures to support field service business processes.
3.Provides specialized on-the-job training to the operators/maintainers by explaining theory of operations and demonstrating basic operating, maintenance, servicing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques, and by using special tools and equipment to supplement formal training.
4.Supports local and company safety processes/procedures (e.g., hazardous materials, flight operations, power isolation, maintenance practices) by identifying and reporting safety concerns to preclude personnel injury or unexpected hardware damage.

Competencies

 

Knowledge of airline, Boeing, regulatory procedures and process. Technical and Engineering knowledge experience with commercial airplanes. Utilize this knowledge to resolve customer issues. Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, Structural, systems and Aerodynamic principles. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables. Good team player with advanced customer and interaction skills. Able to prioritize and coordinate tasks within deadlines. Good communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).

Typical Education/Experience

 

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 to 9 years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education / license engineers.

This requisition is for a one year contract for an international, locally hired position. There may be a need to extend the contract beyond one year. Relevant local language skills are required. Candidate must be a Japanese resident or have current long term legal authorization to work in Japan. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labor sponsorship for any applicant. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of any Boeing USA / international based payroll. This requisition is for a Field Service Rep position supporting JAL at Narita International Airport. This job requires 24 x 7 coverage and frequent work on weekends and evenings is required. The applicant must be willing to work at either the Narita or Haneda airports, and must be willing to relocate within Japan at managements discretion. Upon hiring the applicant will undergo 6 to 9 moths of training. The training may or may not be in Japan, and the applicant must be willing and able to travel to the USA or other location to attend this training. During this training the applicant will be in a probationary status.
