Performs production assembly operations and inspections, ranging from simple to advanced, on electronic/electrical and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Provides periodic maintenance on machines and tooling and machine set up tasks, ranging from simple to advanced, to prepare machines for production activity following machine inspection checklists. Performs a broad range of rework and modification to parts and assemblies per requirements. Assembles and delivers kits. Performs receiving and inspections procedures on incoming materials. Documents inspection results in accordance with applicable procedures. Collects and inputs data for statistical process control analysis. Works under general supervision.

 Assembly Process
Basic - Basic knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data). Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.
Preferred - General knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data). Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.

 Assembly Tools
Basic - Basic knowledge of standard tools (e.g., pliers, wrenches).
Preferred - General knowledge of standard tools (e.g., pliers, wrenches).

Typical Education/Experience

 

Level A - High school diploma or GED. Level B - High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Job related information

 

Prior soldering and/or wire harness assembly work is preferred. Essential functions of this job include alternate sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds multiple times in a shift. It is also essential to speak, read, and write English. Qualified applicants will possess good color acuity, good depth perception and be able to pass a vision test. Use of computer based work instructions is an essential function of the job.
