GENERAL MANAGER LANDSCAPING (AIRPORT TERMINAL) - MUMBAI - AIRPORT INFRASTRUCTURE
Our client is an international infrastructure client and they now require a General Manager –Landscaping at the New Terminal for the new airport in Mumbai.
Job Purpose:
Responsible for developing and implementing a landscaping and ecology strategy that, within the constraints imposed by the normal operation of the airport will improve (a) the Airport City physical and visual landscape character to provide a distinctive identity and (b) create a pleasing environment internally within the airport and it’s buildings that will inspire and attract visitors and enhance the experience of travel and use of the airport.

Key Result Areas & Outcomes expected from the Role
• Short-term and long-term development of the land
• Ensure that the Environment and Built Landscape of the airport city and its surrounds are protected, maintained and enhanced through sustainable design and development practices, processes and outcomes.
• Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimates for land development/ landscaping both internal as well as external.
• Coordinating arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures.
• Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications for the landscape design
• Directing all landscape maintenance operations to meet defined quality, aesthetics and cost parameters
• Compile and analyze data on conditions, such as location, drainage, and location of structures for environmental reports and landscaping plans
• Working with architects, surveyors and engineers to determine the best arrangement for the landscape
• Confer with clients, engineering personnel, and architects on overall program
• Inspect landscape work to ensure compliance with specifications, approve quality of materials and work, and advise client and construction personnel.
• Advise on the long-term care and development of the landscape
Educational Qualification :
Graduation/ Post Graduation in Horticulture from an institute of repute or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
Experience :
Essential:
15 – 20 years of work experience with at least 5 years of work experience of being attached to major Airport projects. Internal landscaping exposure essential.
Worked on major landscaping projects
Desired:
Exposure to airport landscaping project
Technical / Functional Skills Required
Understanding of environmental laws
Knowledge about biological surveys
Additional Knowledge Required
Conversant with AutoCAD or other designing software
